Tournament Results

2016 has already been a busy year for fencing. Check out AskFred for results for the Central Coast New Years Foil and the Highlanders’ Three-Weapon Unrated tournaments. Thanks to the organizers of these events and to everyone who came out to fence or help.

New Years Open Foil

Presidio Fencing is hosting an Open Foil tournament at Dunn School in Los Olivos on Saturday, January 2. The event will be run “Santa Barbara Style” which means after pools, the top 50% move on to DEs while the bottom 50% starts a whole new tournament. This format is designed to maximize fencing for competitors of all skill levels. Plus it will be the first opportunity of the year to earn those 2016 ratings! More information and pre-registration is on AskFred.

Youth Circuit / High School #1

The first Youth Circuit event of the season was fenced this weekend at Dunn School in Los Olivos. At the same time, we also kicked off the new Central Coast High School league with a qualifying event for the spring Championships.

Results from the Youth Circuit and High School events are available online.

The points list for the Youth Circuit is also online.

See everyone in January!

Youth / High School Clinic Rescheduled

The first clinic of the season is being rescheduled from Saturday, October 10 to Saturday, October 17, due to the heat wave. We believe everyone will have a much better time fencing all day in more seasonable temperatures. See you all on the 17th!

High School Tournaments & Changes to the Youth Circuit

We are pleased to be adding high school tournaments to the calendar this season. These events are open to fencers in 9th-12th grade from SLO, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties. The individual qualifying events held during the year will culminate in a championship team event in the Spring. More information about the high school events can be found here.

For the Central Coast Youth Circuit this year we are making some changes. The biggest change is that we are merging the Y10 and Y12 events into a single category. Y10 fencers are still more than welcome to attend the youth events but won’t have their own separate points list this season. Rules for the Youth Circuit, including age requirements, can be found here.

2015-2016 Season

The proposed calendar for the 2015-2016 season is online. There are lots of events for fencers of all ages and levels on the schedule this year so take a look and get ready for a great season!
